  25. You might also want to look into SNOBOL/SPITBOL, which was a predecessor 
  26. language to Icon.  Some of us still use S*BOL daily in preference to Icon.

  28. There's also a book, "Algorithms in SNOBOL4" by Gimpel (available through 
  29. Catspaw, and probably also through amazon.com) which contains a random text 
  30. generator, and some techniques probably rather relevant to your research.
